As the sun rises o’er the lake

My sleepy eyelids too shall rise

To greet the glow of each daybreak

 

No cloud intrudes on this daybreak

No gray gloom doth fill the skies

When first light dares to kiss the lake

I bless the soundness of mine eyes

In the shimmering blaze of this daybreak

From my soul all darkness flies

If today the sun drowns in the lake

I’ll rise tomorrow though my heart cries

I shall each day a way devise
